Jason stirred on the bed, unable to find his voice. He saw, through blurry eyes, the doctor walk in. He was asking Susan something, and explaining what he could. Apparently Jason had gone into a form of shock brought on by past occurrences resurfacing in current situations. He explained as much as he was legally allowed to a non family member.
“M’am,” the doctor said, “I can not reveal his other medical conditions to you, it is confidential unless with in his direct family.” The doctor explained deeper, “I can tell you though, I do not know if he will come out of it, the hock is set very deep in his mind, he may not come out of it for months, if at all.”
Jason heard Susan argue about that and sighed, finally finding some energy to talk. “Su…Susan, I will tell you.” He rasped out, his voice dry and rough. He reached weakly to a glass of water and took it in his hand, but it slid out and smashed on the floor. “Damn it.” He whispered.
He looked at Susan and waited for her to respond to his waking up and his offer of explanation.

Susan jumped as she looked at Jason after the doctor said he wouldn't be coming out of the state he was in for a month or so if at all. She got the glass up that he had dropped and grabbed a paper cup from the cupboard in his room and got him some water and then helped him up to drink it. She kissed his forehead as tears surfaced in her eyes. She couldn't let him see her cry. It would upset him, and she didn't need him upset as she was.
She looked at him and caressed his hair "lets get your strength back and then you can tell me whatever you want". She sits by him and lets him rest and every time he wanted something to drink she would help him. She never slept and never left, she sat with Jason until about 2 days later whenever he started acting normal and able to talk normally and do stuff for himself. She woke up on Tuesday which was about a week after he had been put into the hospital.
She looked at Jason, he was already awake and watching tv. She smiled "I see you're feeling much better today", she got up and stretched after sleeping on that bed for the week they had been there had really done a number on her back, she stood and it popped all the way up. She groaned alittle, and smiled as she got up and went to the bathroom to wash her face.
She dried off her face and turned back toward Jason "the doctor said you could go home tomorrow, you're doing much much better". She walked over to his bedside and cuddled with him on the bed, she had started doing that after his injuries seemed to be healing. She loved cuddling but when a nurse came in she always got up so she wouldn't get into trouble. She wondered what would happen after he went home, her parents knew where she was, they didn't like it but they couldn't do anything about it.
After about an hour of watching tv, she watched Jason get up and walk around, getting his stuff ready to go home. Susan had not left his side, but his parents had been bringing clothes to him almost everyday and bringing Susan a good meal to eat so she wouldn't have to go down to the cafeteria and get some food she probably wouldn't enjoy. She helped Jason get up his stuff into a bag "do you want to get a shower now or wait until you get home", she held a pair of clean clothes out to him waiting to see what he would say.
